What to pack for a jungle trek

Below is a general packing list for jungle treks in Maliau Basin. The exact requirements may vary and will be adjusted for each trekking package, depending on trek duration, terrain, and accommodation.

 

Important note: Pack light. Conditions are hot, wet, and rugged, and you’ll enjoy the experience much more with a manageable load.

👕 Clothing

  • Lightweight, quick-dry long-sleeve shirts and long pants
  • A change of clothes for evenings
  • Rain jacket or poncho
  • Sturdy trekking shoes with good grip (expect mud)
  • Leech socks
  • Sandals or camp shoes
  • Hat or cap
  • Sleepwear suitable for warm, humid nights

  • Small daypack (waterproof or with rain cover)
